Vertical Boost Volcanoes

This season we had an opportunity to be involved with the Perinton Recreation Center’s Youth Soccer League. We had a team play as the “Vertical Boost Volcanoes”. We were able to watch them play and few times and celebrated with them after their final game of the season. The players, coaches, and parents were all wonderful people.

Thank you to Phil Young, of AirQuip Heating and Cooling and Nancy Regus of the Fairport Perinton Partnership for making this possible.

Sportsmanship Awards – Spring 2023

This weekend we were at the Palmyra Community Center for a youth basketball tournament sponsored by Finger Lakes Fury.

We believe that character and integrity are the keys to a better world for all. Kids with these traits act as leaders on their teams and better everyone around them. We watched the games and consulted with the referees before and after. We were impressed by the high character of many of the players on the court this weekend. It was difficult to pick only 4 players, but we ultimately decided to recognize these rising stars for their sportsmanship. They played hard during the games, but it was often their actions after the whistles blew that showed their high character. These players picked up not only fallen teammates, but also their opponents. They cheered on their teammate’s successes and also supported them when they made mistakes. Congratulations and thanks for setting a great example for others!

Thanks to Bob Guy of Finger Lakes Fury for allowing us to present these awards. Each winner received a mini-basketball, Gatorade water bottle, and lighted wand.

2022 Winter Coat and Toy Drive -Update #2

Coat and Toy Drive - Donated Teddy Bear

Our 2022 collection for Coats and Toys ended on Friday, December 16th.

We wish to extend heartfelt thanks to all of donated to this great cause. With their help, we were able to provide 74 coats, 42 toys, and many other pieces of warm winter clothing to PrimeTime585’s Coat and Toy drive. They have adopted the Sickle Cell Unit of Golisano Children’s Hospital and 5 Rochester City Schools.

We want to thank our partners for helping make this happen:

Primetime585, Fairport’s FDIM and Business Club, Fairport High School, Perinton Recreation Center, and the Town of Perinton.

As Rochester’s weather starts to turn cold, Primetime585 is hosting a Coat and Toy drive for 2 great causes…

Golisano Children’s Hospital – Sickle Cell Unit
PrimeTime585 has adopted the Sickle Cell Unit at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder that is present at birth. It can be diagnosed in children as young as 6 months old. It is a painful disease that can lead to infection, cause strokes, and can require many blood transfusions. While this unit is serving over 150 children, it wasn’t as well known as others, and therefore wasn’t receiving many donations. Primetime585 is working to change that.

*** Coats and Toys must be new for the hospital. ***

Rochester City Schools
Primetime585 has also adopted 5 city schools for this drive. Gently used coats and new toys are being collected to support families in these under-resourced areas.

More Information
Vertical Boost is assisting PrimeTime585 by helping collect the donations in Fairport at the following locations:

Some boxes will be collecting coats only and some will be collecting both coats and toys. This was done to not interfere with other drives of the same type.
The collection boxes will be open until Friday, December 16th. Thank you in advance for all of your support!
